If metal coloured fillings bother you, then a white filling can be used to treat tooth decay. The beauty of white fillings is that they can be colour matched to your teeth and nobody will be able to tell that you even have a filling!
You will be familiar with the silver coloured amalgam fillings that are traditionally used as teeth filling material. White fillings are a modern alternative. A composite resin material is used instead which can be colour matched to your natural tooth. You retain a totally natural look after the filling is done.
White fillings can be placed both in the front and back teeth to halt tooth decay.
At Walton Dental Surgery we also help patients remove their old amalgam fillings and replace them with white fillings, using the most modern dentistry materials. Call us for more information.
After you have made the decision to have white fillings, we will book an appointment with you at a time that is convenient for you.
Once you are with us, you will be glad to find that we offer a very caring and relaxing environment at Walton Dental Surgery.
We use local anaesthesia to ensure that you do not feel any discomfort during the filling procedure.
We will first prepare your tooth to receive the white filling. This includes applying a special gel and a priming material to your tooth that prepares the tooth for a good bonding with the filling resin.
We then add the resin that is colour matched to your tooth and expose the resin to an ultraviolet light that hardens the resin. We then polish the filling so that it looks and feels just like your natural tooth.
You will be amazed to see how natural your tooth will look after the treatment.
We’ll give you plenty of helpful aftercare advice when your filling has been placed, but when looked after as part of a healthy hygiene routine, your white filling should last for around 7-10 years.
If you want to replace old silver fillings or need a new one and want to keep the natural aesthetic of your smile, we’re here to help. Get in touch today to book your free consultation.
